JRunners Hires Executive Director

Posted on Jul 10, 2014 by in Musings | 0 comments

After a months-long search, and interviews with several qualified candidates, JRunners is pleased to inform the public that Vanessa (Bassie) Meghnagi, of Passaic, New Jersey, has been brought on board as Executive Director.

Vanessa will absorb most of the duties of our current CEO and President. She has been tasked with moving JRunners forward in various positive directions, including several egalitarian initiatives which have been demanded by the loyal JRunners club members.

Our new Director will be responsible for staging more races, events, community involvements, fitness awareness programs, unsanctioned runs as well as entrenching us in the public eye, working closely with local sponsors, spreading our message of health and camaraderie everywhere, and preaching the gospel of fun and activity for the broader Jewish community.

Immediately, she will explore the possibility of staging a stop-gap, clubmember-driven, low-cost relay this summer so that the race continues annually uninterrupted, in the interest of returning the race, in 2015, to its former glory.

Vanessa comes with not-for-profit management experience (which we are), a passion for running (several marathons under her belt), and years of involvement in education. All three qualities caused her to rise to the top of the pile, along with having a like mind for the directions in which JRunners would like to grow.

We are very excited to have her on board. Please welcome her into our fold, just as we did when offering her the job – which we are confident she’ll perform excellently.
